Guess, I was supposed to leave my band suggestions here, sorry! I guess Tic Tac Toe would be hip hop, maybe BAP and Wolf Maahn would be pop/rock. Oh yeah Toten Hosen are good too.
Through my buddy Scott over at This International Life I discovered the Torpedo Boyz — though I mostly like the instrumentals better than the vocals, barring “Ich bin Ausländer,” where the vocals really help. There’s a video under that link; check it out if you haven’t.

My german teacher is obsessed with Die Prinzen. I don’t know how popular they really are though.
If you are ever in the mood for alternative rock, Rammstein’s pretty good. 🙂
